Class Overview:

But first...a peek into my thoughts on… learning new skills. We can have knowledge on how to ride a bike, ...but gaining the skills to actually ride the bike takes “doing it” and making a ton of mistakes……each mistake is a lesson. Mistakes are celebrated in this class……Mistakes means we will grow and achieve greater degrees of proficiency. Because of the amazing properties of clay…..dirt and minerals……we will practice 3 basic skills that give us a higher degree of a successful firing. Our clay pieces will literally be tested by fire, (about 2000 degrees) so the construction techniques are as important as the creative vision. Being involved with art requires the artist to take responsibility for themselves and their work space. Students will independently set up and clean up their work spaces.
